Jonathan Blout - Principal & Builder
Jon Blout brings an architectural eye, a craftsman’s precision, and a deeply personal investment to his work. His background spans more than 25 years of construction experience and education, beginning at age 12 alongside his uncle and a builder who became an early mentor. He earned an associate degree in construction management from John A. Logan College and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His greatest passion is designing and building custom architectural elements that challenge his creativity and skill. Working alongside Haley, Jon contributes to the design from the beginning and carries that thinking through construction. His understanding of materials, proportion, and construction methods helps him resolve the subtle details that make a space feel intentional. He approaches each project with the conviction that work built to last deserves the time and thought to make it exceptional. That same commitment shapes how Jon works with clients. Open-minded and attentive, he takes time to understand their preferences, listen to their concerns, and find solutions that reflect how they want to live. He wants clients to feel comfortable expressing themselves and confident that their home matters as much to him as it does to them. For Jon, success means clients feel understood and cared for throughout the process, and proud of their home long afterward.
Haley Chipman - Principal & Designer
Haley’s passion for creating exceptional living spaces began at a young age, eagerly delving into computer programs to design interiors even before her teenage years. Pursuing her ambitions, she studied Interior Design and Construction Management at Illinois State University, forging a strong foundation in both aesthetic principles and practical considerations. Haley ventured into the world of interior design, starting in the commercial furniture industry. Demonstrating her mastery in the field and dedication to delivering outstanding results, she earned the NCIDQ certification, an industry-recognized standard for interior design professionals. Seeking new horizons, Haley transitioned to a reputable commercial and residential design-build firm, where she assumed a leadership role, guiding a team of talented designers. It was during this pivotal stage of her career that she crossed paths with Jon, the owner of MoBA Construction. Recognizing their shared values and creative synergies, Haley seized the opportunity to collaborate and joined forces with MoBA full-time. This partnership allowed her to channel her creativity and precision, blending artistic expression with thoughtful, methodical design. At the core of Haley's true passion lies the creation of functional homes that authentically reflect the unique personalities and styles of her clients.
